Thrilled to share that I have completed my graduation in bharatnatyam through Pracheen Kala Kendra - India It’s been a tough and exhilarating journey. Years of hardwork and patience poured with correct guidance and mentorship by my guru Saraswati mam. Beginning a new chapter in my life and proudly a bharatnatyam graduate now. I would also like to address a a major problem that I encountered during this duration. Delhi University’s recent decision of maintaining 60% attendance actually impacted a lot of students. The idea of college to me was not just to gain knowledge but also to explore and understand my artistic and academic abilities. This attendance rule was brought in to cage students. College is meant to embrace and explore sides of life that interests you and not just force feed students textual knowledge. As a person with a very artistic background it was quite difficult for me to balance out both academics and art. Especially NEP’s continuous assessment format. It recquired us to be looped into college on a daily basis to ensure good grades. But is college just really made to repress a student’s extracurricular abilities. I was also a part of my college’s dance soceity for a good one and a half year. The constant shaming and taunting by teachers never stopped as we were the students who they assumed were of no use in the batch. We were representing our college on levels and pressures that a regular class going student would have never tackled. Why to make places like Delhi university which is considered a hub for artistic and powerful students just confined to this? Are we still prioritising textual knowledge over real life challenges and experiences? Why was this rule implemented in the very first place?#onemorehurdlecrossed #newdegree #grateful #newachievement #achievement #delhiuniversity #du #duattendance #delhiuniversityattendance

How important is a PRACTICAL ASPECT of something?Currently, I am learning a subject regarding case studies where I am diving deep into the procedure of solving them. We often discuss 2 aspects of any academic subjects:1) Theory, and2) PracticalBut does this end here itself?? 🤔ABSOLUTELY NOT 👎A major aspect of any academic subject which:👉 Allows free flow of thoughts👉 Compels you to open up and speak in class discussions👉 Boosts your confidence👉 Prepares you for any challenging situation👉 Increases your knowledge....IS A MIX OF PRACTICAL AND THEORY!In other words, it's a case study imagining yourself being present into that particular situation and preparing solutions. I don't intend to stir up any debates, but what I have noticed is that the Indian educational system is deficient in this crucial component of education as well as practicality. There is no space for practical exposure during PRIMARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION. Every kid shapes their personality, abilities, and knowledge at school. And it's hard to modify once this is established. I went to a school where the only things that mattered were grades and studies. And only one games period every week in the name of extracurricular activities. There was no platform to showcase talents and with respect to academics, no practical projects. Five years from now, your abilities would be just as important as your knowledge base. As a result, make every effort to engage in skillful activities. Take on a position of responsibility, engage in case comps, join groups and committees, and improve yourself.Follow Ansh Kumar for more such content!P.S : The most peaceful place I visited i.e. Adiyogi Statue at Isha Yoga Centre, Coimbatore #practical #practicality #theory #academics #studies #skills #knowledge #world #iim #imt #cat #xat #progress #abilities #personality #iims #bschool #education #corporate #company #learnings #confidence

Why does LAYS have different flavours? Because they cater to variety of audience. While potatoes 🥔 are the base, the flavours engage the foodies.Similarly, if we can change different examples to different learners keeping the base content same, we can engage the learners better. For example, if we are teaching Indian history to the students, it is important to have examples of local heroes, that engages the students. Like Birsa Munda from Jharkhand, Kalpana Datta from Bengal, etc. Similarly, even a dry content of Instructional design can have variety of examples catering to different learners across the globe. #instructionaldesign#learninganddevelopment
