China Decoded: Jackie Chan, Korean War, One Child Policy (2024)

Comms are contextual and as a result you can no more read a comm from knowing the basic symbol than you can understand a complex situation described with a single word.

Consequently, you really need to understand the historical context to understand pretty much anything!

The “Dragon” in Mulan and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon are good examples of this. I decode that concept as “Many people working as one” in many posts but knowing that solves nothing of intent.

To understand these, we need to talk about China and the moral crisis they were undergoing at this exact moment in history!

One Child Policy Consequences: Mulan

The wiki for Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon suggests it was inspired by Mulan to focus on female characters.

3 female characters drive the plot and I add to their assessment the most famous scene by far is a fight with 2 women.

It’s more common today, but back then a fight scene between 2 women was rare, and this one is often on lists for greatest fight scene ever.

Which is to say clearly the wiki is correct about the film promoting women, but for what purpose?

Before I give the blunt answer I want you to notice what the two films have in common.

Both involve women far more capable than most male warriors in the same film. They are both confronted with rules that tell them they are inferior and cannot join a fight due to gender.

By now you are probably assuming it’s a gender division push, but no, this is uniquely Chinese!

1979-2015: China institutes the One-Child-Policy

Do you know what happened to gender division when China implemented this?!

From the very start they were faced with a tragic unintended consequence.

When families were told they could only have 1 child, in 1980’s China…

An “Imbalance in the ratio between males and females”.

1985: “FEMALE INFANTICIDE HAS LED TO A SHORTAGE OF GIRLS IN CHINA.”

Eventually they were forced to modify this rule.

1988: China’s one-child policy allowing 2nd child specifically for sonless Rural peasants.

“THEY WANT BOYS AND THEY ARE NOT ABIDING BY THE ORIGINAL POLICY”

That didn’t apply to cities and the imbalance continued.

What is the cure if the population is so obsessed with getting boys, that they begin literally killing the girls?

Exactly 2 answers.

• A. End the policy (they didn’t until 2015)
• B. PROMOTE GIRLS (They did!)

A simple and logical answer

And even with that promotion they still had quite a problem, so imagine if they hadn’t!

I’m actually relieved because it’s a far more ethical reason than I typically expect given the modern landscape of gender/racial division warfare.

The theme of a woman becoming the athletic man others want in a child.

In fact, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is largely a fight between multiple parties who all want to adopt and raise a girl.

A girl who has an interesting birth date!

The actress who plays the girl everyone wants to adopt is born the same year as the One-child-policy began!

There is no official day in 1979 when it began I can find, but it did begin that year and the specific date she was born also overlaps with something interesting.

A movie famous for having UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES.

Tho for symbolism the UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCE aspect in relation to creating instability and anger is the more likely connection.

One last thing. The “Dragon” connection between Mulan and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

The original Mulan story had no “Dragon” but the fact it’s played by EDDIE MURPHY is critical for the symbolism here.

The point with that is in doing for women in China what was done for blacks in America.

Michael Jackson dominated music, Michael Jordan dominated the NBA, Mike Tyson dominated Boxing and Eddie Murphy was the equivalent in film!

Horror shows of racial and gender division warfare, but what I learn from decoding this that SOME of that trek may not have been entirely immoral. At least the motives for it anyway. However, if there were bad morals one would expect a cover for it, so we can’t rule out some of it as intentionally amoral.

I need to gather more data and eventually the patterns may even make those deeper levels clear!

Next let’s take a step back and decode China from a broader history.

World conquering Empires persisted through hundreds of years, but at a certain point they all died off.

There are a great number of secrets to what they were and what became of them!

The longevity of these things is often centuries and some like the Chinese Empire lasted thousands!

For most of the last 30 years Jackie Chan has been the most famous Chinese name in the West.

And the timing with Brandon Lee is a clue for what was going underneath.

If you look at the small number of films he made they include plots like having Brandon lee as “MICHAEL GOLD” to get potential KGB criminals to DEFECT.

That sounds like funding to put people into hiding to work against former criminal employers!

Which really gets to the heart of what the CROW is about (movie about coming back from the DEAD to punish criminals) but I’ll return to that.

And so this is we get “movies” like Ruby Ridge as what I suspect are messaging for operations across a multitude of cells.

Networks that aren’t happy about being in the crosshair and have specifically built up weaponry (people included) to discourage efforts against them.
